Troopers Announce Performance Clinic

DCMB Parents Corporation today announced that the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps and Citywide Marching Band will host their first ever performance clinic for high school marching band students in Colorado. The clinic will be held on October 8th at Baker Middle School in Denver from 1pm – 4pm. Participants can register between 12pm and 1pm. Baker Middle School is located at 547 W. 6th St, Denver, CO. . Cost of the clinic is $15 per person. Proceeds will go to both organizations to support their music programs. Participants should bring their own instrument.

Troopers Brass Caption Head, Jason Buckingham, will conduct this which clinic designed to enhance the performance skills of participating marching band students. The clinic is open to all high school marching band students and color guard members.

About Mr. Buckingham:
Jason has been involved in drum corps since 1983 as a performer, instructor, arranger and administrator. The list of drum corps he has been affiliated with includes Start of Indiana, Crossmen, Carolina Crown, Green Bay Northmen, 6th Hove Scouts (UK) and Blue Knights of Denver, CO. Jason was also a cast member of “BLAST”. Jason recently completed his Master of Music Education degree at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wyoming in Music Theory and Composition and a Bachelor of Music in Music Business Management from the Berklee College of Music in Boson, Mass. Jason is currently the Brass Caption Head for the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps of Casper, Wyoming.

About the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps:
The Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps is the only competitive junior drum and bugle corps in the state of Wyoming. The corps, founded in 1957 by Casper contractor Jim Jones, represents the state of Wyoming in numerous events during the year and competes in the Drum Corps International (DCI) Summer Music Games tour each summer.

The Troopers are proud to be a charter member of Drum Corps International. We have been serving the youth of America for 45 years and during that time have held eleven championship titles including the World Open, Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), VFW National, American Legion, North American and DCI regional titles. In addition to summer performance activities, the Troopers have appeared at numerous professional sporting events including the Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Phillies and Kansas City Chiefs. The Troopers were the first drum and bugle corps to appear in the Pasadena (CA) Tournament of Roses Parade and have represented the state of Wyoming at the 1993 and 2001 Presidential Inaugural Parades. Additionally, the corps has appeared in concert before representatives of NATO and United States Presidents Johnson, Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and George W. Bush.

About the Citywide Marching Band:
The Citywide Marching Band of Denver, CO is celebrating it's 25th year as the only marching band representing Denver Public Schools. The band is comprised of students from all 11 Denver Public School High Schools. Citywide Marching Band is the only opportunity for many of the students to participate in a music program through the Denver Public School system.

Citywide was the first marching band from Colorado to march in the Tournament of Roses Parade. The band represents Denver at the Colorado State Fair and has traveled and performed all over the United States including Honolulu Hawaii, San Diego, CA and this year they are traveling to Chicago, IL to perform in the Thanksgiving Day State Street Parade.

The band is under the direction of Clinton Moore and Tait Anderson.

The DCMB Parents Corporation is a registered non-profit organization that is dedicated to support the students in the Citywide Marching Band by raising funds, providing volunteers as needed and attending performances.
