Stop by the March 10th camp of Chicago's newest all-age exhibition corps, "The Men of Brass".

Wisconsin State Fair Park (Tommy Thompson Youth Center)
8100 West Greenfield Ave
West Allis, WI 53214

This is a full field exhibition corps (men & women) that will be performing an exciting program of jazz, dixieland and big band charts in the style of Col. Truman Crawford arranged by Kenny Norman.

Hope to see you there as we work on the opener "Basin Street Blues".

Yes, an excitingly talented horn line..loved relearning the MOB signature tune: Going Down to Cotton Town. Norman is doing a splendid job.

That's appropriate "Men Of Brass" I can remember listening to a album as a young kid back in the late 50's of the same title with all of John Philip Sousa's marches. At a standstill contest in the mid 60's in Stockton,Ca I was blown away by the music of the Marine Corps Drum&Bugle Corp lead by Truman Crawford. Great experience for kids and parents. Wish the new group could come out this way (West). "Waiting on the Levee, Waiting for the Robert E Lee."

Ben, in the 50's they were two corps: Skokie Indians and McHenry Red Devils. This new crop of guys may be willing to try anything. Contact them and see:

reenie9@aol.com is one address. Another is: octobersam@comcast.net

Thanks for the kind words and fond memories of that brief period.

The M.O.B. camp on March 10th in West Allis, WI was a success with more new members signing on. Kenny Norman worked the brass line on some of his tasty arrangements such as Basin Street Blues, Floatin' Down To Cotton Town, Rockabye Your Baby With a Dixie Melody and the Count Basie/Neil Hefti chart Splanky. This musical program is shaping up to be very exciting and certainly a crowd pleaser.

Details on the next camp to follow. All are welcome to stop by and sit in with Chicago's newest all-age drum corps, The Men of Brass.
