So my corps rehersal feild was The parking lot of High School. they painted a feild down for us and everything. Its actually a real good place for rehersing. on the flip side The worst freild ever was for finals week in College Park 2000. We go there and our rehersal feild was under water. Litterally, i dont mean thi s as an exaggeration. It looked like a small lake and we couldnt use the stadium at the school we stayed at and had to use a parking lot ten yards to short for our show.
So what are your Wost and best Freilds ever for rehersal?

Ours was a parking lot at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Lakewood, CO. We also used the indoor arena during the winter (kicked up lots of dirt while marking time). We'd do the first half of the drill, then back up to the wall (the arena wasn't big enough for the full drill), and practice the rest of the drill.
We did the same with the comp guard (ie, winter guard), when using an elementary school "gym." (It was actually the school cafeteria). Did the first half of the drill, stopped, backed up, and did the rest. The only time we had a full floor was at competitions, and we'd get used to doing the full drill during our alloted practice time on the floor.

Our worst practice field in 2000 was in Benson IL i think. It was actualy a field in every sense of the word! It was an old crop field because all of the cut down stalks were still in the ground, so we had to try to march on them. There were even millions of baby frogs there too! It was bad.

Whenever we were in Iowa, it seems we get either bad fields or extraordinarily bad bugs. Or both! In 2000, we stayed at Loras College in Dubuque and were attacked repeatedly by flying beetles that coated the field. With every step you could hear the lovely sounds of 6 or 7 of them crunching beneath your feet. This was of course also the day the guard learned the beginning of the closer, which involved flopping onto the ground in anguish and slowly climbing back up. Brings new meaning to the term "beetlejuice."
Also in 2000, anyone who was at the 2/3 focus show in New Jersey remembers the "goose poop" fields. Enough said.
Good fields... anywhere with turf or nice lush grass. When we can get it, Coates field at UWL in LaCrosse is a great place to rehearse.

I have three fields tied for worst:
1) The practice field we had in Jackson, Missisippi '93 (does anyone have good memories from there?)
2) J. Bernie Crumb Stadium in Allentown, PA '93.....the last year it was astro-turf and it was soaked.....it had rained for three days before
3) At some O.D.C.A. show in Sherbrooke, Quebec in '94 they put a
plastic tarp up around open space in a crowded park and called it a field. It was soaked and little kids kept running into the tarp trying to play on the field.
The two best were:
1) Foxboro, MA '94 not the best stadium, but one of the best fields. Also
the "homefield advantage" was great and finally getting to see Lancer's field show after watching standstills all season.
2) Sheffield, Connecticut '94 after DCE II/III prelims were pushed back a day due to rain (and I got to spend the night watching a canadian corps' colorguard do a bras and panties practice) the field was in excellent shape for the 8 AM stepoff. They flew hellicoptors in all night long drying the field.
