We are starting a new Div III corps in Southern Indiana (Evansville) called Hypnotix.

Check out the website at www.hypnotix.org Brass audition music for 2006 is available on the site and lots of info along with a discussion board.

Lots of work and planning has gone into this effort to assure the corps doesn't fold after a year or two. Feel free to visit the site, ask questions, or even volunteer to help.

Thanks,

Jim Fox

Good Luck!! Its great to see new corps being established...especially when the trend has been the opposite lately!!

Are you planning on staying regional or touring? Do you plan on attending Finals in 2006?

Brass Caption Head, Hypnotix

I think you may have missed a golden opportunity to promote yourself at the Indianapolis show. Lots of Indiana band kids there!! But I didn't see anything about your group there. I even mentioned it to some kids sitting close to me - they never heard of it before.

Perhaps you tried and DCI was too controlling to allow start-up groups space at a table for advertising. If not, you should definitely try for some sort of presence (posters, flyers, booth, etc) at next year's show.

We are planning a full tour. We have gone over the calculations many times. Once you have the equipment, rent the buses, etc., a full-tour is not much more expensive. We plan on being in Madison.

It helps that we are in the Midwest. We are planning a doing as many DCI shows as we can and as many DCM shows as we can fit in.

As many of you know, I resigned from Hypnotix in October 2005 after I saw trouble on the horizon.

The corps has folded. It will not march in 2006 -- or ever for that matter. It is a sad story and one that pains me to no end. Such a good start, and a good thing going, ending in nothing.

It is sad and it hurts.

Jim

Wow. . .so sorry to hear that.

Care to share what happened and why it did not work out?
