As far as I know this particular Sound Machine began later in the 1990's. There are a few of us on the current version that were on that particular version of SM. The internet archive for SM goes back as far as 1999. The copyright for that archived Sound Machine was 1996-1999, so I don't know if this is the same SM you are referring to or not.

I guess Dave will have to answer this for you.

I could be wrong, but I think the original poster was referring to the original Sound Machine of the Inland Empire Youth Band.

I guess I assumed that someone posting on the Sound Machine Drum Corps Discussion Group was asking about the SM drum corps side, rather than the marching band side.

Yes I am reffering to the Youth Band. This is the website of that band. Kind of funny that this forum is so popular now. I remember when it started :)

Yeah I was in the drumline for SM Youth Band, I was aldo in the Drumline for Velvet Knights 1995 (Tenor Player). Tom Float was the instructor. I was #8 of 8 Quad Players. I had an accident right before tour and was not able to go. I was sad :(

Anyways anyone from SM Youth Band or VK 1995 send a Hello.

Cesar

Nice to see you visiting the Sound Machine Discussion Site. I know this is a tad bit late getting to you, but I wanted to let you know just how good of an organization we had, though, at the time it was hard to always see it. Best wishes to you and to all the alumni of the Sound Machine Youth Band.

Sincerely, Jesse Silva
Staff Assistant

Never forget the leasons learned both on and off the field. To all the old alumni, bug David to get off the couch and start the band again!

I was not a member of Sound Machine member during that time but I was a member of your rival, Spirit of Santa Fe Springs 1995 and early part of 1996. I played bassdrum. Is Scarlet Regiment still around?

Hi Oscar.... welcome!

Nope, the Scarlet Regiment fell by the wayside in the late 1990's, just like the Sound Machine and Spirit of Santa Fe Springs.
