Brian I believe Markovich won Snare at VFW and Mike Stefanowicz was second......1963 Seattle. Mitch barely won because he didn't practice enough.
Was the date requested correct??.......63 was in Seattle.

Back in the 1960's nearly all references to the PAL meant the Bridgeport PAL , from CT. In the 1970's it meant the PAL Cadets from Philadelphia.

Pag started his 3 consecutive wins in 1964.

You can view Gary playing an ensemble at the 2003 PAL reunion
http://rudimentaldrumming.com/ens_videos.htm

He also played his solo at that reunion. I need to get his permission to put that on my site as well.

Do you remember the scores? I know Mitch won that year, but I'm missing his score.

I don't see how Mike could have competed at the Jr level in '63 since he competed at the Sr level in '62. My chart that lists the winners of VFW http://rudimentaldrumming.com/vfw.htm has Mike winning the Sr division on snare in 1963. Does anyone know what corps Mike represented? I'm missing that information.

Also, does anyone know what corps Sandra Stone played with? She won tenors in 1962.

Her corps is not listed on the recap. It says she was from Mt. Morris, IL, which means she probably marched with either Custers Brigade, the Cougars, or one of the Rockford corps, the Phantom Regiment or Purple Knights. Mt. Morris isn't too far from Rockford, so my guess would be one of the Rockford corps.
