Let me know if you have any. Hard to come by to be sure.
Thanks.

I don't remember if I saw any there, but it's worth a trip down memory lane. I will caution you though, so far there are 987 pages of old photos. I had some on there but had issues with one poster stealing them and then selling them. Some day, I'll repost them again.
Take a look and enjoy;

I know I personally had some photos I took of the Blue Stars in Minneapolis from July, 1973, but they are amongst a ton of unsorted drum corps materials I have yet to get through.

Man, I wish I had eight hours(just for starters) to go through the boxes of unsorted "stuff" in your basement.

If you enter this link, http://www.anellomouthpieces.com/ you'll find several photos of corps from 1972-1973. Once you get to the main page, click on Family, then "link", then Robert Anello Drum and Bugle Corps Photo Archive. In Gallery#1, you'll find a nice shot of the Blue Stars in South Rampart Street Parade.

My brother was a photographer for Drum Corps News back then.

I wish I had the entire archives on computer, Jim. It took me years in the early 1990s to put the scores and musical repertoires onto computer files.

Geez, I was hoping someone might be interested in one of my Dad's mouthpieces along the way!

any pictures available of the Kewanee (Illinois) Black Knights, Nee-Hi's All Girl drum and bugle corps, or the Springfield (Illinois) Capital Chargers? Also, I cannot forget the Statesmen, also from Springfield.

Great Picture Z. And for a little historical tidbit. This 1969 Blue Stars Corps was the first Mid-Western Corps that SCV beat. I don't remember exactly where, it was some small show "somewhere".

As I recall, when my family was following my Sister and the Corps back to VFW, we had caught up with them after they had returned from the show and the Corps kids were absolutelly ECSTATIC that they had beaten one of the more "established" Corps. Not sure how it happened because Blue Stars did end up placing 7th in finals and SCV just missed 12th. Ah well, ya just never know in the crazy world of Drum Corps.

Benji, YOU should remember this!

Yes, wonderful pic....

I always loved seeing the guard gals in those short-shorts. (I WAS only 16-18 in my Cadet years!).

:shock:

I sure do Mags,The Blue Stars were one of my all time favorite corps. They had a strong hornline especially when the played "Hall of the Mountain King" for concert(I was standing right on the sidelines) and the Trolley Song out of concert. Their baritones and soprano line were awesome and who could forget that flag and rifle line. I'm not sure what show it was and I don't think we placed first but we ended up a few tenths higher than the Blue Stars and placed either fifth or sixth the Kilts and Cavies were the top corps in 1969 along with Troopers, Boston Crusaders and Des Plaines Vanguard. That was my first tour and we were finally competing against those corps I had always listened to on Fleetwood Albums and now it was a reality. Great memories,except I can't place where that show was....cobwebs. Someone out there knows.

Ben
