Today, I've had the opportunity to review the 1981 27th Lancers. Even though it was the Midwest broadcast, that colorguard was outstanding. The rifle work is just as demand (IMHO) as some of today's stuff. The precision is awesome. Did Peggy Twiggs teach the guard back then? I know George Zingali was visual designer. Great corps and great show. I forgot how good they actually were.

Yes, Peggy Twiggs was working with their guard.
It wasn't until 1982 when she left to go to Garfield Cadets. That year made every one's heads turn because the improvement of that guard from '81 to '82 was like night and day. Of course since that year, Garfield Cadets has been in the top 5 in color guards.

Is Peggy still working with anybody or is she retired from the activity? Those 27th Lancer rifles were very good and so together. Flags too.

I think she works for the Government and may help out with some local high school guards. I know she was inducted in DCI's Hall of Fame.
She didn't write for the rifle line, only for the flags.
Nancy told me that it was the members in Lancers rifle line that made up most of the work. Many of those girls marched in winter guards. Denise Bongfiglio was in that line and did help out once she age out. She is now heavily involved with WGI. Now Zingali would have ideas and ask the girls to try new things. He couldn't do guard work, but he had some wild innovated concepts.
