Thanks for the posting.

I look forward to seeing 4 of these corps Sunday night.

My reaction to this...

1) go blooooooo...
2) crown appears to be a contender (and don't give me any foolishness about it being too early to tell... generally corps with a middle-of-the-pack history have to "prove" themselves through the course of several weeks before they are given credit... these guys and gals did it in one night... that says something)
3) the recaps seem to show a wide variety of strength vs. weakness between corps... however giving the Cavies the favorable advantage

This is not your father's DCI circuit... and I am sure that Hoppy is scratching his head tonight, wondering... "what happened... when did everything change?"

It seems that it's going to be a nail-biter of a season... ah... so refreshing.
Nothing is too difficult... only time consuming.

Precision west.............

No, I wasn't there (a little TOO far to travel for me  ), but since no one has posted these yet, I will (besides, most of you on the west coast are asleep right now)........

Blue Devils 75.900
SCV 75.400
Mandarins 63.400

Blue Devils B 66.200
SCV Cadets 63.700

Impulse 57.050
Fever 56.300
Blue Devils C 45.100

Renegades 67.925
River City Regiment 55.325

When I first posted this, there was NO link for captions yet....but there is now AND DCI is including ordinals in the recaps.....I'm not sure but I think it's the first year for that (I used to write them in myself before I would go to critique in the old days....great idea DCI!!).

First thoughts? Well, it is WITHOUT a doubt the strongest start for SCV since at least 1999.........GO SCV! A couple of surprises....SCV winning guard (it's the first show, BD probably isn't complete yet) and BD SLAMMING SCV in visual performance (again....first show). BDB on top of SCV Cadets?? A bit of a surprise there, but I suppose since both corps will be going to Pasadena, they both are starting stronger this year. No real surprise with Impulse (defending Div. 3 champions), but Fever should be VERY competitive this year in Div. 3 as well!!

While I'm at it - scores from Coon Rapids (Div. 1 only) -

Phantom Regiment 72.800
Blue Knights 67.050
Colts 65.500
Blue Stars 62.650
Pioneer 53.750

Phantom Regiment pretty much dominated the captions, with the exception of BK winning the composition sub-caption in visual ensemble. Finally, the drum corps season is here...........and something tells me this is going to be a VERY different season than most!!
