Eloquently understated!

Possibly the most incredible single show scores I've seen in the past ten years.

It's things like this that make me a drum corps fan.

Go Blooooo!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by joninchina » Mon Jul 02, 2007 9:20 pm

I can just see it now............the crowd in the stands............"and in 3rd place.........The Cavaliers" - and total bedlam ensues. And THEN.........."in 2nd place............the Blue De....." and the MOMENT the crowd heard the D of "Devils"...............I'm guessing the structure of the stadium was in serious trouble from all the yelling, pounding, screaming and overall insanity - and the OVERWHELMING sound of "BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"!!!!!

This is a WATERSHED moment for drum corps, people. My SINCEREST CONGRATULATIONS to the ENTIRE Bluecoats organization - KEEP IT GOING ALL THE WAY TO PASADENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, even though I am a diehard SCV alumni and fan, nothing would please me more to see a GREAT corps like the Bluecoats surprise everybody and win it all. GO FOR IT BLUECOATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't want this to get lost in the (deserved) hubbub over the Bluecoats, because it is also worth mentioning:

The Troopers beat the Glassmen in Brass.

Go Troop!

I have to admit that seeing that gets me a little warm and fuzzy on the inside. I know i'm not the lone ranger that's been waiting for Troopers to make a comeback. I just hope they can continue to build on this.

It's not like it hasn't been shown to be possible in the past few weeks...

But it certainly is nice to see it happen... rather than ALMOST happen.

Notice the caption trading... as I posted on a thread in the general discussion forum... I will be very dissapointed to see these close point spreads dissapear at the first all-together regional (as we can now see the true ongoing contention that is occuring among MANY corps).

Crown, Cadets, SCV, and Phantom better all be within the same 2 or 2.5 point spread at the first regional... or I will be VERY dissapointed with the judging community, and begin, for the first time ever, to question their credibility.

BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Now... keep tweaking and keep one eye over your shoulder!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing is too difficult... only time consuming.

Yeah, Bloo won GE, Cavaliers won Visual, and BD won Music. Nice to see it mixed up like that.

Two point "jump" for Bloo overnight-WOW. I agree about the 1st all regional-wouldn't it be great to have several caption winners, close scores, and a true winner crowned because of being hot that night? Fun!

WOW!!!

Post by Jazzman » Tue Jul 03, 2007 8:37 am

I'm just checking in this morning and what do I see? Wow!!

Does this mean that the judges are throwing out the "leave room for slotting" scoring approach and just scoring them as they see/hear them without worrying about ties in the ordinals!! Wouldn't that be a refreshing change!! "On any given night..."
Regards, Jazzman
