That was the 1st time I've ever seen Academy. Ladies & Gentlemen, boys & girls, and children of all ages, Academy came to win. Regardless of their performance spot their horn line blew the roof off. Their tunes developed quick went from soft to loud & ended on a peak. They were good.

Other observations:

1. Troopers have to close the holes in their show, that doesn't look good. Guard needs to get it together in spots. They were much improved over last week. They have worked hard.

2. Pioneer- Has too good a corps for the show.

3. Cascades- There are parts where the guard has to have flags in their hands, not dancing. In the 2nd half of the show they need to lose the earth tone flags and get contrasting colors to show up the great flag work.

4. Madison- improved, but still needs to be cleaned a lot.

5. Crossmen- Hornline was top heavy at times, too much trumpet.

6. Blue Stars-Improved over last week, using the uniforms much better in visuals.

7. Mandarins- Their show dies in spots. A lot of their drill is great, there is just not always enough of it.

8. Blue knights- Different corps altogether from last week. Much improved in the horn line.

9. Colts- Not as much improvement as the rest. They didn't look as inspired as they did last week.

Just my opinions,
Bill
