Interesting that the Blue Devils next show is August 4th. Can't invision a non-CA corps winning the first DCI Finals in CA. BD will be that corps.

That is a lot of time off...I wonder if their focus will be cleaning or if they intend on adding/changing anything to the show. I know a lot of people have been pretty disatisfied with the current ending.

The Spirit/Blue Stars/Glassmen/Academy battle is very exciting! Just when I think Blue Stars have passed Spirit for good, Spirit bounces back and shows they aren't out of it yet. And I'm not so sure you can count Madison out of it completely yet...they sure are charging forward.

I would go so far as to say the whole second half of the show is a snooze fest.

At this time of year, I imagine they'll (like most corps) be doing both, but holding back on some GE related stuff until the semis or finals.

Seeing BD in Indy, I can say they now hold my attention through the ballad (whereas before it was just through the opener). So I guess that's a plus. 8-)

Still the top 3 shows are all flawed, IMO. The Cavaliers show has some nice moments in it, but overall it lacks something.... it's just kind of blah to me. And the Cadets have entirely too cheesy narration. I feel like I'm watching one of the feel-good stories on the ESPN broadcast, with their incessant explanation of what they are doing and why they are doing it.

Agreed on all accounts. . .it's inevitable, but I sure wish someone else would win this year.

I also completely agree with you here! I enjoyed Blue Devils and Cavies when I saw the shows in Atlanta, but they didn't blow me away with their sound or execution level. I think some of this, for me at least, is because I expect such great performances from both of these corps...my expectations are very high. I imagine I will enjoy these shows more on the DVD after they have tweaked and added everything they intend to.

I really wish Crown or Bluecoats had more of a chance this year....very complete, entertaining and difficult shows from what I can tell.

I pretty much have to agree as well--all the way around.

I can't remember when I like a show more than Crown. I even like the Cadets' hor show. I also like the Colts show a lot. What's that mean? In the grand scheme of things, not a thing. But, I think everyone's correct, we need to see some new blood at the top..........Bill
