DCI QUARTERFINALS / DCI Scores page

Post by jazzer » Thu Aug 09, 2007 2:26 pm

Well, it's nice that it shows quarter finals as they come in, but what happened to the scores from all season??? Am I missing something?

Okay-sorry-it takes a refresh to get the icon to see "other" scores

Sorry for the post-I WANT SCORES!

Yeah, what he said!!! Holy Moly

I suppose, fortunately for The Cadets, they change judges for Semi's and for Finals  Maybe tonight's judges didn't like the narration so much (pure speculation, of course)

I'm thinking there had to be a penalty or a major pile-up.

Cadets had a heavy timing penalty tonight. My Dad called from the Rose Bowl and said that Cadets came on the field, the drum major was on the stand and George came out and pull the corps off the field b/c he wanted DCI to re-line the field before Cadets performed. They must have assessed a timing penalty b/c after Cadet's score was announced George ran onto the field and was yelling at Dan Hatcheson (sp?) all the way off the field.

And God said, "Let there be music".

Jim Ott made sure he could hear it!

The Academy has almost a full point to overcome to make Finals. That's a lot to ask in one night.

SCV's the other night was only 1.000. That would still put them behind BD and Cavies. Could they have had an even larger penalty?

(I just saw the recaps on DCI. A full 2 pts penalty!!)

Help me understand this. Why would the field need to be re-lined? Was the weather inclement? I'm not even aware a corps could even make such a request.

hehe. Funny. I really wonder what the big deal was. Was the field really that messed up? Freakin everyone out right at this point really isn't a very good idea, unless someone is looking to create excuses. Not very likely.

Maybe. The Color Guard judge KILLED them tonight. The Academy was 21st out of 22 in Guard, beating only Pioneer.

For reference, a week ago in Tempe they were 5th out of 12, beating the Colts, Spirit, Blue Stars, Scouts, Pac Crest, Southwind AND Pioneer.

Assuming The Academy had beaten those corps in just color guard tonight, with all other captions staying the same, their score would have been 85.775. Still 0.15 behind Spirit, but 0.15 looks a lot better than a point.

Bad night, maybe? I guess we'll see tomorrow.
