Scores Page?

Post by chadwick » Thu Jun 26, 2008 1:49 pm

Not sure if I should ask the Moderators or Dave, but will the Scores Page be updated for the 2008 season? It still has the scores for the 2007 season.

I've always preferred the scores page on SoundMachine because it offered the scores for different shows on the same page....great for comparing with other shows on the same day and also easier to see scores from earlier shows to see how a corps is progressing. All on one page = Big Convenience!

I was just wondering the same thing! If need be, someone else can take over the duties. I know I have server space and everything needed to host it...

Send a PM to Dave. He might just not have the time to do it this year.

For those of you who were also curious if the scores page would be updated, I have sent a PM to Dave but have not heard back from him. He must be quite busy as I haven't seen him post anything in some time.

I'm back....

Post by Bandmaster » Tue Jul 01, 2008 5:48 pm

Sorry for being AWOL. I was up at our ranch in Oakdale, CA baby sitting 1100 heifers while my mom and my sisiter's family were on vacation for the last 10 days. While there my laptop died and left me without the web. :hmr: But my brother and I managed to get the barn painted and the chorral fences repaired.

It seems I have created a monster that won't die! I started the scores page years ago because it was so hard just to find the scores in a timely manner. Plus we had a bunch of Sound Machine alumni marching in various drum corps that summer and we wanted top keep track of them. DCI was so slow at posting scores back then and I prided myself in having the "fastest scores page on the internet." But things have changed alot since then and DCI has their act together and posts scores almost before the awards are over. So is there a need for a scores page outside of DCI?

But it seems that there is still a demand for the format I created, so give me a couple of days and I'll see if I can get it up and running.... again. This will make 13 years and counting... whew...! But I am not going to promise to be the fastest on the net anymore...

Dave, I am glad you are back! IF you DO need any help, let me know. What I like about YOUR scores page versus others out there is more the achieving of EVERY score from the first show to finals night. I also (as someone stated before) like how you can click on your scores page and get ALL the scores from one night, instead of having to flip back and forth...

Thats just me though!

Me too! It makes compiling my rankings a lot easier.

Gee... I got my first scoop of the season already. I got the scores up from Stanford an hour before DCI had them. :shades:
