Congrats, Phantom!

I'm a die-hard cavies fan but to see an epic show like phantom's climb to first place on finals night is TRULY EPIC! What a history making season...

Congrats Phantom. Long time coming! Kudos to your percussion. That was the difference.

Phantom had a better show than BD and it was really obvious to many of us in the stands. They deserved the win and probably should've been up in the number one slot sooner.

As one of the other Sound Machine members in the stands, I can only second Rysa4. While everything they did wasn't my personal cup of tea, there can be no denying that the entire corps bought into what the show was trying to accomplish and they sold the heck out of it. It was a kick to watch their progress from Thursday to Saturday. And, that mellophone solo was to die for!

One last thing. I was outside of the stadium when the scores were announced. The roar when second place was announced was unbelievable. Without even knowing who was the champion, I knew for sure that it wasn't the Blue Devils. THAT kind of roar meant only one thing - a big upset.

Congrats to Phantom, Crown, Boston, Madison, and any other corps whose 2008 show marked a return to fan-friendly drum corps!!!

There is hope, after all!

AND, IT IS NICE TO HAVE A NEW CHAMPION!

I made the trek up to Bloomington afterall......and I am SOOOO happy I did! Wow....that was such an incredible feeling to hear them say Blue Devils in Second Place....that crowd went nuts! Including myself!

Jim,
You are absolutely correct....that mellophone solo is just breathtaking. So long, so beautiful...so perfect!

I finally got to hear Phantom play Elsa's Procession before they did their encore...my first time ever! I moved to the center of the stands for the encore performance and ended up being in the midst of Phantom alumni....which was very very cool.

What a night!!

Agree....adding the Glassmen, Blue Knights, Cadets and SCV to that great list. Great programs this year.
