Favorite Drum lines of each decade of DCI

Post by cavies79 » Wed May 05, 2010 11:11 am

Lets see how you choose your favorite drumline of each DCI decade.

My choices are:

70s- SCV- Great drumlines led by Fred Sanford.

80s- Bridgemen- Outstanding lines led by Dennis DeLucia. Very entertaining too.

90s- Cavaliers- Jim Campbell's lines were very musical and excecuted very well.

2000's- Phantom Regiment- Paul Rennick's lines have been some of the best of all time.

70s- SCV.
80s - Garfield Cadets. The Bridgeman were done by 1983 and I watched their drumline destroy their drums in the parking lot after finals in 1985, essentially a pack of idiot animals at that point. Delucia was gone then and bridgemen were non existent most of the decade. The Cadets were totally revolutionary in the 80s and the 1987 Garfield Cadets drumline may have been the best ever in DCI overall. ( They scored a 20 out of 20 but the musicality and perfection were pretty amazing).

As far as the 90s I cant say as I was out of the activity pretty much in every way.
2000s has had a shared crown - Bluecoats and Phantom would be my vote, with the Cadets a very close third overall year by year.
