2013 Drum lines

Post by rysa4 » Tue Jul 23, 2013 7:06 pm

well its well into the season and I have seen a lot of the drumlines. So whats going on this season? The top lines are Blue Devils, Cadets, and Santa Clara, but other corps like Madison are strong as well. DCI has posted from the parking lot videos of all of the top lines and in addition to the one local drum corps show, I have been watching and listening to the fan network vids as well.

I think Santa Clara has the top snare line but its really close with Cadets. Santa Clara is a little more relaxed and the writing is a little more innovative. But cadets get the nod from me for their quads and are way out in front with their bass drum line. The bass drum book is harder than many snareline books this year!

All drum lines, including the likes of pacific Crest for example are as a whole far more aggressive this year. Its almost as if all lines feel the need to smack out double stops and rim shots with their sticks as high as their ears for the GE points. I like it !

It should be a great rest of the season as BD and Cadets keep it close with Carolina Crown due to the higher drum scores.
