What did you have to prepare for an audition on Contra?

Post by docfox » Fri Jul 22, 2005 12:30 am

I am in the middle of preparing what will be the audition music for a new Div III corps in 2006.

For you tuba and contra players -- what did you play for your auditions?

Or -- maybe you have recommendations!

Well, keep in mind, it's a Div. III corps. In all likelihood you won't be worrying about auditioning people so much as scrounging more people up that are willing to march. So basically, I'd just find an etude or two that isn't too crazy from the Kopprasch or a similar book that will help you get a feel for each member's strengths and weaknesses.
